Hi friends 🧡 This was the week AI moved closer to the money. Claude can now read your bank accounts, scammers are cloning CEOs to move wire transfers, and Meta is about to change how your ad sales get counted right before Black Friday. So my head is on one thing: what you hand these tools, and who checks it. Here's what matters.

Claude can now answer questions about your own money

What happened

On November 5, Anthropic introduced Personal Finance in Claude, a beta that lets you connect bank, credit card, loan and investment accounts and ask questions in your own words. It is rolling out on the Pro, Max and Ultra plans in the US. Access is read-only, accounts connect through Plaid, and Claude never sees your bank password.

What it means for you

If you run a small business, your personal and business money probably blur together. Asking "where did my money go this month?" or "is any charge hitting twice?" and getting an answer across every account is a real time saver. Anthropic says chats inside the Personal Finance hub are not used to train its models, but anything you share outside the hub follows your normal privacy settings.

Do this

Connect one account, not all of them, and ask one question you already know the answer to. If it gets that right, you will know how far to trust it.

Scammers used cloned CEO voices to steal about $129 million

What happened

The Associated Press reported on November 5 that three men were indicted in New York for using AI to impersonate company executives and attorneys, taking about $129 million. They emailed accounting teams as the CEO, then joined phone or video calls using an AI copy of the CEO's voice and sometimes face, and handed off to a fake lawyer who gave the wiring instructions.

What it means for you

You do not need to be a big company for this to work on you. If your bookkeeper, assistant or VA would move money because "you" called, you have the same weak spot. A familiar voice is no longer proof of anything.

Do this

Set a family-style code word with anyone who can pay bills for you, and a rule that any new wire or changed bank details get a call back to a number you already have on file.

Meta will start counting more ad sales on November 12

What happened

PPC Land reported that a new Meta Pixel setting, "Measure conversions on customer devices," switches on by default from November 12, 2026. It matches some purchases on the shopper's own phone or computer to recover sales Meta says were missing from your reports. You can turn it off per pixel in Events Manager.

What it means for you

If you run Meta ads to a website that sells something, your reported sales could go up after November 12 without anything changing in your business. Two weeks before Black Friday, that is exactly when you might boost a budget based on a number that just got more generous.

Do this

Write down your real orders and Meta's reported purchases for this week, then compare them again the week after November 12. Trust your checkout, not the dashboard.

ChatGPT can make GIFs and remember your photos

What happened

On November 4, OpenAI announced ChatGPT Images 2.6, a faster image model that keeps details steady across edits. GIF creation is rolling out, so you can ask for a looping animation or animate a sketch. Saved reference images let you name a photo once and reuse it in later chats without uploading it again.

What it means for you

Saved reference images are the quiet win here. Save your logo, your product or your storefront once, then call it up whenever you need a new graphic.

Gemini now lets you edit the files it makes, for free

What happened

On October 29, Google added an in-chat editor to the Gemini app, according to PPC Land. You can preview and edit the documents, PDFs, slides, spreadsheets and code Gemini creates without leaving the chat, including on free accounts. On phones only PDFs can be edited this way; the other file types are web only.

What it means for you

If you use the free Gemini app for flyers, price sheets or handouts, you can now fix a typo yourself instead of asking it to start over.

ChatGPT on your phone can hold two accounts

What happened

On October 30, OpenAI started rolling out account switching to the ChatGPT iOS and Android apps. You can stay signed in to up to two accounts and switch between them. Each one keeps its own chats, memory, settings and subscription.

What it means for you

If you have a work account and a personal one, you no longer have to sign out to keep client chats away from family recipes. Find it under Settings, then Switch account.

Jam's take

Everything this week came back to one question: what are you pasting in, and where does it go? Here is the switch almost nobody mentions. On personal plans like Pro and Plus, whether your chats help train the AI comes down to a privacy setting, and many people have never looked at it. Anthropic had to spell out that the Personal Finance hub is not used for training, and that everything outside the hub follows your settings. Team plans handle this by contract, but if you are a one-person business on a personal plan, you are the IT department. It is a 30-second fix, and it matters more than any new feature on this list.

One thing to try before Monday

Open Claude and ChatGPT, go to Settings, then Privacy (ChatGPT calls it Data Controls), and find the setting about using your chats to improve the model. Decide on purpose whether it is on or off. Then tell anyone who uses your accounts what you picked. Ten minutes, tops.
